Laser Marking and Engraving
Over the last few months, we've been working behind the scenes to implement internal upgrades to the Grasshopper Vaporizer. We addressed the most common issues, improved performance, and increased reliability. The Grasshopper is continually evolving into a better and better product. With the addition of new internal components, it is necessary to add identify markings for reliability tracking. Hopper Labs acquired a Rofin Laser marking system for this purpose.
The marking laser uses a series of mirrors mounted to very precise, and high-speed motor called a Galvo. This allows the laser and component to be marked to remain stationary while the beam is directed around by the mirrors. Our system utilizes a 20 Watt, 1064nm diode pump fiber laser. This unit is powerful enough to cut thin metal and fast enough to mark parts in seconds.
In addition to marking parts for tracking purposes, the system is available to do cosmetic engraving on the Grasshopper's pen clip. The laser is incredibly precise with a line size down to .001mm. We have already accepted a few intricate designs from customers and had great success applying them. If you would like to learn more about Pen Clip Engraving, click here.
